Uncorrected machine reading. This text was read by machine (Apple Vision OCR) from a scan of a newspaper page, and the page was cut into articles by machine, at the headlines found by their type size. Nothing has been corrected: expect misread words, text from a neighbouring article, and titles that are the machine reading of the headline, some of them only fragments. Quote from the scan, not from this page.
How this article was cut and titled: headline found by type size in the OCR geometry (split_tabloid.py); 2-3 of 7; machine-segmented newspaper page; uncorrected Vision OCR.

CONGRATULATIONS for calling for the launching of a campaign against blacklisting in industry!

While my heart went out to the cowley with al they suffered in the last month. I have to sav that political victimisation at work is nothing new.

For the last four years I have been without a job, due in my case, 1 am absolutely certain, to my activities as a trade unionist in my previous place of work.

It is well known that maintain a blacklist of militants in the industry, THiS iS ONLY THE BEGINNiNG.

Who seriously believes that shooting down an unarmed civilian plane las anythin! to do with eence ortic rauonau: ea property relations of the USSR? As Trotsky pointed out, the only real means of defending the nationalised property (all we do defend about that police state, by the way)

s to mobilise the working nationally, and for the overthrow of the bureaucracy in Russia. the problem is that individuals who are on it Have no way Ul knowlllg for sure.

This is very demoralising, since at factories wiere you kiow unere are ous you are tunicu away time and time again. without knowing why until you suddenly twig.

In increasing uesperation I am now going to get a job.

1984 came early for me. Best of luck with the campaien. ror obvious reasons I prefer to remain ANONYMOUS, Birmingham.

A preconamon Ior that must be to tell the LULe aDouL lud murderous indifferénce to human life systematically demonstrated by that bureaucracy.

In our concern to stay out of the camp of the cold warriors we must not allow ourselves to end up as lickspittles of Birmingham.
