Uncorrected machine reading. This text was read by machine (Apple Vision OCR) from a scan of a newspaper page, and the page was cut into articles by machine, at the headlines found by their type size. Nothing has been corrected: expect misread words, text from a neighbouring article, and titles that are the machine reading of the headline, some of them only fragments. Quote from the scan, not from this page.
How this article was cut and titled: headline found by type size in the OCR geometry (split_tabloid.py); 4-5 of 7; machine-segmented newspaper page; uncorrected Vision OCR.

It is not that we have stopped receiving cheques and postal orders sent in, it is just that the facility we have for printing our all those generous donations has en uniliaterally withdrawn by the computer. As they say in the media, normal will be resumed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, , the norservice offered h the rest of the paper continues. Last weekend at the Chile demo a large contingent marched behind the brightly coloured Socialist Action Daniel, depicting American Eagle swooping down to escalate the war in Central America.

Meetings being held all over the country against the witch hunt in the unions and in the Labour Party.

With our newspaper under attack, and the so-called hard left preparing for a difficult party conference, the fund drive money coming in is as important as ever.

We Wall y make return to the regular 16 page format and bring back all the features which have had be left out over the summer.

Put a cheque in the post today. Everyone will get a mention when the machine is fixed.
